Outdoor ceremonies are an audio problem, not a speaker problem
Northeast Florida weddings happen on lawns, on docks, on beaches and on terraces over the St. Johns. All of them have the same three enemies: wind, open air with nothing to reflect sound back, and a power outlet that is much further away than anyone promised.
That is why ceremony audio is its own system rather than two speakers borrowed from the reception. We run battery-capable speakers so the ceremony does not depend on finding power at the altar, we mic the officiant on a lapel rather than trusting a stand microphone in the wind, and we set a handheld on a stand for readings.
What gets microphoned
The officiant, always, on a lapel. The couple, when the venue and the vows call for it — many couples want their vows heard, some very much do not, and that is your call. Readers and anyone giving a blessing, on a handheld. Live musicians, when there is a harpist, guitarist or string trio, get their own input rather than being picked up off the room.
Processional and recessional
Cues come off a written timeline, not a nod from across the lawn. We agree in the planning call exactly what plays when the bridal party walks, what plays for the bride, and where the music lands when she reaches the front — and the recessional is cued before the kiss, not after it.

Questions we get asked
Do you need power at the ceremony site?
Preferably, but not necessarily. We can run the ceremony on battery-capable speakers, which is how we handle lawn, dock and beach ceremonies where the nearest outlet is a long way off.
Can you mic the couple as well as the officiant?
Yes. Some couples want their vows heard by everyone and some want them private — both are fine, and we set it up the way you decide in the planning call.
What about wind off the water?
Wind is the most common cause of unusable ceremony audio in Northeast Florida. We use lapel placement and wind protection rather than a stand microphone the breeze can find, and we position speakers so the guests are covered without feeding back into the officiant.
Is ceremony audio included in your wedding packages?
Ceremony and reception sound is included from the Essentials package up. If the ceremony is in a separate space that needs its own full system, that is the second system included in Signature.
Can you work with our live ceremony musicians?
Yes. Give us the instrumentation in the planning call and we will bring the right inputs so the musicians are reinforced properly rather than fighting the room.
